Improving the rheological and fluid loss properties of the water-based mud using wheat flour

This study aims to evaluate the effect of wheat flour as a natural and environmentally friendly material on properties water-based mud. Recently, many experiments have been conducted with various additives improve drilling fluids. The using new additive fluid was studied rheological filtration properties. In laboratory several samples mud were prepared, different concentrations from 1 wt% 7 added tested by Fann 35 viscometer, 140 Mud balance, an API LT-LP filter press. results showed that adding optimal concentration. It found apparent viscosity yield point increased 50% 35%, respectively, when fluid. Likewise, loss rate reduced 25% same concentration flour.
